Ans:A Chaplain Officer is a clergyman or layman licensed and commissioned by a faith group and invested with military authority to render pastoral care, social crisis management, counseling, sacraments, worship, education, end of life care, help in ethical decision making, staff support , clergy contact, community coordination, church coordination, security and law enforcement assistance and conflict resolution, locally and internationaly. A Chaplain Officer may be employed on a professional full time or part time basis and also on volunteer basis.
