The warrior’s Perspective In Reducing distraction

The warrior’s Perspective
In
Reducing distraction

1 Corinthians 7:35
I am saying this for your benefit, not to place restrictions on you. I want you to do whatever will help you serve the Lord best, with as few distractions as possible.(undivided Devotion)

There are few things which block productivity as fast and as surely as distractions. When you cannot concentrate and focus properly, you cannot get things done. Even if you do accomplish something, it can feel stressful and frustrating. Whether you are on the job or at school, reducing the distractions which influence your ability to be productive will help you to get more done.

There are two key points which you should keep in mind when you are planning to reduce the distractions in your environment. The first point is what works for you and what works for someone else may be entirely different. The second point is unless you have examined your habits, you may not be one hundred percent certain about the habits that are the most effective for you. The good news is it does not require much time or effort to consider how your habits are affecting your productivity, and begin to adjust them accordingly.

If you are like most people these days, multi-tasking has become a part of your everyday life and your everyday vocabulary. There may be a number of things which you need to do in one day, and you may be doing them simultaneously. If you overdo with multi-tasking, there can be two consequences. You might not get everything done; or you might spread yourself too thin and not have satisfactory results.

The same can be said about distractions. Attempting to do a job– and to do it correctly and well– will not net satisfactory results if distractions are allowed to get in the way. Working while listening to music, watching television, or chatting on the phone are not limited to teens. Many adults do these things in their home offices, and even in an office which is occupied by other people. Perhaps they help your concentration– but they can just as easily ruin your concentration, and distract you from what you are doing. Becoming more productive takes a little analyzing of your habits. You can turn off some or all of these distractions, and see if you are better able to focus on the task at hand. You may find that you can get the job done better, faster, and more effectively, without any distractions at all. On the other hand, you may find that one of these factors actually does aid in your concentration and focus.

While finding whatever works for you it’s easy if you work on your own, it can be a little more complicated if you work with others. You may find that coworkers and partners who constantly use their phones, visit, or play their radios near your work, church or house space distract you from focusing on your job. If you approach them politely, this may be all it takes to reduce the distractions so you can concentrate on your assignment.

God help us to stay focused in Jesus name Amen

Characteristics of a Chaplain

THE CHARACTERISTICS OF A CHAPLAIN

1.ALL ABOUT JESUS.

A chaplain must be Jesus- centred, gospel- focused, mission-minded, and community-oriented. (Colossians 1:15 ) All things are from Jesus, through Jesus, to Jesus and for Jesus. The bible is all about Jesus. The gospel is all about Jesus. Life is all about Jesus. Once again, CHAPLAINCY is all about Jesus.

In the same way, it is crucial that a chaplain is all about Jesus in mind, body, spirit and strength. (Mark 12:30-31)

  • Every aspect of a chaplain’s life must be about Jesus, for the glory of God and the good of others.

NOTE: A chaplain’s character, mission and message must be all about Jesus. A chaplain must know the gospel and be able to articulate the gospel well.

2.INTEGRITY

(Matthew 5:13-14) integrity is all about wholeness. A chaplain must be the same publicly as he/she is privately.

  • People are counting on you to be the real deal not (fake). People are counting on you to follow Jesus in action, thoughts and words.

NOTE: Integrity occurs when your actions, thoughts and words match up to each other, which is the gospel and God’s word. Integrity can only come from a true daily walk with Jesus.

KEYS TO INTEGRITY

  1. Complete trust in Jesus.
  2. Daily time in God’s word.
  3. Living by the Spirit, open confession of mistakes.
  4. Followed by true repentance and a return to Jesus.

3.SERVING

A chaplain must be able to put the physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual needs of others above his/her own in order to lead them to Jesus and glorify God.

The question is not, “are you SERVING?” but, “are you a SERVANT?”

  • Chaplains must be willing to serve in a way that is unexplainable.

NOTE: You can tell whether or not you’re a servant by how you act when you are treated like one.

  • KEYS TO SERVING
  1. Remember it’s all about Jesus.
  2. Consider that you’re serving (or lack thereof) is either pointing people to Jesus or leading them away from Him.
  3. Ask others how you can serve them.

4.TEAM WORK

Ecclesiastics 4:9-10

  • If you want to go fast, go alone, if you want to go far, go together. (African proverb).

A chaplain must remember that we are better together.

NOTE: Take all the help you can get and give all the help you can give.

  • KEYS TO TEAM WORK
  1. Identify others who are passionate about Jesus.
  2. Listen to those who express an interest to help.
  3. Ask others to help.

5.EXCELLENCE

   Colossians 3:17-24

A chaplain must always give his/her best as if he/she is doing so to Jesus. (Matt 25:40)

  • Excellence is about doing all things with integrity, serving and team work

NOTE: excellence is the result of being full of god’s spirit, through a daily walk with Jesus.
